I guess I've been reading 'Please Kill Me" and "Our Band Could Be Your Life". (Both are excellent, by the way.)Then again, I also just finished "The Dirt". But I already decided against any mix like that.

This is very excellent. I wish these kinds of compilations were sold in stores.
Actually, it was kind of a comment on the comps that Rhino has put out (DIY, Postpunk Chronicles) but it was also a look back at a time when it seemed people made music with no aspirations other than just wanting to be in a band. Y'know?
i like it a lot. appropriate use of sex pistols songs is hard to come by. i read please kill me a while back...good stuff, definitely. ooh and i'm all about opening with the jam. nothing like em.
please kill me is one of the most engaging books i've ever read, and this compilation is an awesome accompaniment.
