Comment:
Further proof that i'm turning into my mother (and i don't even mind it anymore)-- i love Xmas music. From the serious to the silly, it's grown on me. In small, rigidly controlled doses, of course. If i had to listen to Xmas muzak every day i'd kill myself! But a little bit of what i love is here-- it's got a bunch of South Park songs because "Mr. Hanky's Xmas Classics" is one of the single best Xmas albums ever. But then after them, it's The Carpenters and Elvis. Yeah, i know, I guess listening to Mom playing them year after year really grew on me and i imprinted and now i like all that stuff along with my 80s nostalgia favorites. Happy memory: the first time i heard "Santa Claus and his Old Lady" was last year at the CD store, and everyone was in their own little world flipping through the stacks and laughing out loud-- it was a fun time.
