Comment:

some kind of homage to musique concrete with a strong eastern bent. this guy jeff works at wall of sound in seattle (or did when i was living there). climax golden twins is his project. lots of really really interesting field recordings of children playing and noise from the street and unexpectedly beautiful stuff like that. david tudor used mechanical devices to mimic tropical birds. ellen band recorded a bunch of swings, and it turned out sounding like an abstract version of seagulls. tracks 4,7,11, and 14 are from this compilation called "ho! #1: roady music from vietnam." very interesting stuff with lots of background traffic and noise. liner note on the first harry smith track: "recorded with sony pro walkman, a gift from allen ginsburg." some gamelan thrown in the pot as well. a pleasant break from the verse/chorus/verse thing.

Sounds & signs of life; traversing Chimes to Chinatown to barking dogs
(or your very own neighborhood). CAUTION: playing this
mix on a warm summer's night with the window open
could cause you to do a double-take and peek outside;
experimentalism @ its most intriguing. An aural effort
in flow and sound-structure that you might not even
hear on your favorite college radio station. Methinks the tea-man is onto something !

You've probably heard lots of these sounds before (car doors and horns, footsteps and footfalls, child shouts and jabber), now's your chance to listen. A perfect soundtrack bourne of imperfect noises.
