Comment:

mix made for casetta, which was both a scary and somehow liberating venture. what do you give someone who has pretty much everything? lots of half-forgotten nuggets thrown in with some new acquisitions that are making me happy. tracks 4,10, and 23 are from a great compilation called "can't stop it! australian post-punk 1978-82." it's put out by chapter records and i cannot recommend it highly enough. another highlight is enon's cover of the fear classic, the lyrics being updated a bit to hilarious effect ("new york's alright if you like thurston moore/new york's alright if you like the virgin megastore"). track 15 is from the cd that came with yeti #1, and it's quite the unassuming stunner, if a bit somber. lots of interesting transitions here, but my personal fave has to be the "toc" to "marathon" to "essential nutrients" to "ordinary people" sequence. fun!

Bitchin' dude! Those Aussie punk bands had such great names. I don't know what's more demented; Nick Blinko's scorching guitar torture or his sprawling drawings.

This looks great!! Thanks! I can't wait. For a period in the late 80's, everytime I ventured into NYC for some show, Thurston Moore was in line behind me. The Enron Fear cover reminded me of that. Anyway, I have more time now to finally get out the mix I owe you.

Enon, not Enron, damn. I hate when I freelance for news media. My mind gets all jumbled.

Very good stuff. I actually recognize more than just a couple of bands here, which is kind of unusual. I recently heard the Iron + Wine track in question and think it's a stunner too.

This fucking ROCKS, teapin. One of these days I'll get a "custom-made" mix from you, and you from me... By the way, have you received your last shipment?

Wow - you made a mix for Casetta and it worked. All your mixes look great, actually (and the titles are brilliant). You're sort of my mix hero, as horribly cheesy as that sounds. Looking forward to the next one.....
