Comment:

This is my first posted mix, and perhaps I should've gone with something more sure-shot, but I love this one so I'm stickin' with it. Not all funk, not even all R&B, granted, but I like the title, so it sticks too. Been file-sharing like nuts the last couple months (I love cable modems), and here come the fruits... surprisingly, almost the exact same synth drums are used on "Dress" and "Zoomin'," so they made a natural segue. Cameo/Clinton/Gap Band pretty much speaks for itself, I think. I was trying to avoid obvious choices with this disc, and was very happy to find "The Men All Pause," one of the fiercest, funniest songs ever recorded. We close, slam-bang, with Sheila E., something I call "Oh Sheila E" (RFTW mixed with samples and beats from "The Glamorous Life"), and "Oh Sheila," which I still argue is the best Prince rip ever. Now I just have to find a copy of "Sugar Walls" for the next volume...
