This is the first volume of a 3-volume series I made back in '98 for a close friend and profound music lover. He's always been a jazz fan, so I thought of using that as a gateway into other genres of music (such as electronic and hip-hop). There's not as much flow to this mix as I normally like, but it's nonetheless one of my favorites ever. Unfortunately, I tend to make only one copy of a mix for any given person, only keeping a tracklisting for myself, so I can't trade this one. The title is from ATCQ's "Jazz," which leads off the set.
