Comment:
I'm a fan of well written pop music (yes there is such a thing) but some of the great ones never quite made as big of a splash as they should have. Well written, well produced, well performed, these were missing a push from the record company, or they were overshadowed by bigger songs. Some were also never released as singles. Dern shame, really. Radio would sound better.Feedback:
John G....as a fan of "well written pop" myself...and I AM a believer in it, this has some great stuff on it....sad that Joe Tex is virtually forgotten, the Jellyfish shoulda' been, and Deisel, LeRoux, and Frankie & the Knockouts just had (too much competition for the "vein of the mine" they were working in.....) good stuff here though!
A+ for franke and the knockouts and shirley murdock. love her song called 'truth or dare' . . . good mix from many decades!
I thought "Nights On Broadway" was a huge hit.
At least the BG's avoided the obscurity that dogged
the likes of Jellyfish. Sigh.
