Comment:
a double cd no wave/noise-ish mix inspired by the recent reissue of the downtown 81 soundtrack, the "anti ny" compilation, and the fact that i can't seem to get my hands on the original "no new york" album unless i want to pay $30 for the import. feh. i figure it's only a matter of time before our recent post-punk and neu electro fetishes lead us back to these guys anyway. i don't have the chops for an actual, factual no wave survey, so i stuck to the first wave of new york-based people circa 78-82 (roughly).Feedback:
Absolutely excellent. Finally a focused, cohesive, important CD with an actual vision.
Phenomenal.
Phenomenal.
Holy shit ted, you've exceeded my expectations on this one. My ears are throbbing with anticipation for this.
aye yi yi...all this & glenn branca too...sWeEeEeEt !!
Looks great, dude. Add me to your list... and remind me what I owe you again, as I received your (kick-ass) mixes this week.
Looks great! I honestly know little about most of these artists, but that's my loss. BTW, is that you in the pic?
You mentioned you were doing this and man, once again you have blown my mind. Toss this into the pile.
Hey, pretty great! Remember when music used to be interesting? Yeesh, I sound old.
Isn't that Basquiat in the pic?
yessir, aged 19 and starring in "downtown 81". don't tell ion, though: i'd like to be an immensely successful artist in at least one person's mind ;)
nice one, Ted. I would like this. What will you take in trade?
Okay, so I failed 20th Century Art 101, but you're still an immensely successful artist in my mind!
this truly is a badass motherflocker of a mix.
Looks fantastic.
Superbad -- you the man! YUM and all that kinda stuff...
once upon a time i had the No new york album but way back someone borrowed it from me and i never got it back, this is an awesome mix, what do you think of new bands like A.R.E weapon and Fat truckers (a lot of suicide influences there )
this is awesome, i'm sure i droolin after one
