Comment:
A selection of folk music from Scotland, Ireland and England. Some of this type of music influenced my man Bob Dylan, but is very different from traditional American folk. However, there is a lot of crossover. Dylan had versions of a couple of the tunes included here, and Percy's song is of course one of his own compositions. I hope you all enjoy this. I have enough material for a couple more volumes if this one proves popular. The June Tabor track is done acapella and is quite beautiful.Feedback:
Nice mix - especially Dick Gaughan (god, I haven't listened to Handful Of Earth for ages, damn that inconvenient vinyl format)
Very nice, althought I only recognize a handful of the above artists.
Goddamn, Gerry--add me to this mix's list of admirers (and recipients), please. :-)
I don't recognize much here, but it looks good anyway!
Ditto Ion and Mo's comments. I know Paul Simon's version of Anji, but I'd love to hear Bert doing it. Maybe a future trade?
absolutely, scott. i am willing to trade with anyone who is interested in my mixes
I'd love to hear this!
Very nice!
I love Fairport Convention & Bert Jansch
I love Fairport Convention & Bert Jansch
very intriguing stuff, gerry.
indeed, i'm surprised i've never seen this gem. it all looks very interesting, and as i'm attempting to swallow up bands of this genre is there anything i should be pursuing? i haven't heard that much english folk music
Good to see some fantastic celtic music around here! It looks like a lovely mix
