Comment:
I was going to do a sixties pop mix, but a couple of non-sixties tracks crept in. I adore all of these tracks and I must admit, there are a few guilty pleasures here. The thing about the sixties is that,in retrospect, some of the artists not considered cool in those days, like cliff richard and Doris Day, had some great records. I think this shows how poor the record charts of today are in comparison. There will be more volumes if this proves popular. I have a shitload of this type of music and it's definitely one of my favourite genres. Hope you all enjoy listening to this as much as I did compiling it.Feedback:
Jesus, Gerry... I WANT THIS!!! Will there ever come a time when I will not owe you, lo-fi, CASETTA or teapin discs? I think not...
Don't worry Rob. I want just about everything you have produced, so the feeling's mutual. Glad you like it, and I'll put it on the pile for you.
Great tunes I really love the Johnny Kidd pics.
Yep Gerry, some great tunes here too. I think understand (and share) some of your guilty pleasures, it the songs where you flinch and smile at the same time when you see them :)
I feel the same way about the sixties as you do Gerry. This is utterly amazing (as always ;-)
This is a beautiful mix, Ilove it
This looks great as usual Gerry, worthy of the proverbial pile. Speaking of the Herd, I saw Peter Frampton at the fair last week. He still sounds great. Unfortunately he didn't play any Herd songs, but about half of Frampton Comes Alive.
Cool stuff & even more mixed up than the last batch of 60s stuff you sent me. Doris Day just five moves from The Pirates? Rock on!
this is like my parent's record collection having a block party. i'd love a copy of this- it'll give me an impetus to start my long-intended summer tour of their vinyl.
Like a wonderful radio show I've never heard. Really sweet.
Very cool pop mix.
I'm gonna' slip into some argyle socks, penny loafers, a v-neck sweater and just soak this up........I'll second Sean's comment...! Good one Gerry!
very, very luverly, gerry.
Great work, Gerry! And Johnny Kidd doing something besides Shakin' All Over!!
the lovin' spoonful...very cool.
I love Doris Day and Cliff Richard (somewhere I've got a single of a Gerbil (I think his name was Eric) singing a cover of Summer Holiday (featuring Roland the Rat Superstar).
This looks like a really fun mix!
This looks like a really fun mix!
everything I know on this mix is really good!
