Comment:

I've never been a truck driver, probably never will be. I've never travelled across the southern US towards California either. I hope to remedy the latter one day. If I ever do, I'd like to think that this is the type of stuff I'd hear on the radio while I'm making that journey. Who Knows? I may even be able to afford a CD player for listening to my own tunes on the trip. Now there's a thought! This latest mix contains some of my very favourite artists. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed mixing it for you.

Phenomenal mix! Please put it at the top of the next pile. And if you ever find a radio station here in America that plays all of this stuff, please let me know... I'll be moving to its market area immediately.

Wow! A mix of yours where I know almost every song...I'm so proud of myself ;-) This is a great travelling mix, though I think my wife would get sick of me rewinding Mama Tried over and over!

this is THE American road trip mix, this would be great for my trip I'm planning on route 66, though I think I prefer Merle Haggards version of Mama Tried.

Outstanding. If you choose to persue that truckin' dream, I got room for your Peterbilt in my driveway when you get to California.

Rob's right. Let me know if you ever find an American station that plays good American music. I know some people find it cheesy, but I love "Chestnut Mare", I really do. Great Tom Waits pick, too.

Gerry...you've nailed it to the wall! (you'll know it's powers when the wife says: " Uh oh. Baby, you'd better get me back to that hotel. You got me hotter than Georgia asphalt.")

Your CDs arrived yesterday, Gerry, and as I was listening to this great mix today I remembered that when I was 14 or 15, one of my history teachers played Neil Young's "Southern Man" for the class while we were studying the Civil War. I'm sure he thought he was being incredibly hip, and that we would all be dazzled by his coolness, but as best I can recall none of us was the least bit impressed. Well, what the hell did he expect, it's not like it was Bachman Turner Overdrive!!!
