A Wop Bop A Doo Wop

Artist Song
the orioles  cryin' in the chapel
the du droppers  come and love me baby
the moonglows  i knew from the start
the harptones  on sunday afternoon
the dells  oh what a night
the flamingos  golden teardrops
the five satins  to the aisle
the crows  gee
the cadillacs  speedo
the spaniels  three little words
the tune weavers  happy happy birthday baby
the sheppards  come to me
the dream kings  m.t.y.l.t.t.
the mello tones  rosie lee
the heartbeats  a thousand miles away
the prisonaires  just walkin' in the rain
lee andrews and the hearts  long and lonely nights
the dukays  the girl's a devil
the monotones  the book of love
the blue jays  white cliffs of dover
the ideals  knee socks
the du mauriers  all night long
the skyliners  close your eyes
the magnificents  caddy bo
the el dorados  at my front door
the logics  one love
harvey and the moonglows  the ten commandments of love
shep and the limelites  daddy's home
the c-notes  on your mark
the chantels  i'm confessin' (that I love you)

this is great, I'm glad people are doing more doo wop mixes. "Just Walkin' in the Rain" by the Prisonnaires is one of my favorites. Did you know they were actually inmates in a Tennesee prison?

I too am glad to see the current wave of Doo Wop mixes. Well done. Was Doo Wop essentially an American movement, or was there a lot of it in your neck of the woods?

Thanks all. Sean, I think it was essentially a US phenomenon. I can't think of any British doo-wop groups, but maybe somebody could rectfy the situation by doing a British doowop mix! Ion, I might just do that. Another moneyspinner and a way of making the vault even larger!

This collection is fantastic!
It transports me back to a more innocent time... a time about two years ago when my then-6-year-old daughter put the video of "Grease" on EVERY DAY and forced the rest of us to watch it.
Thank heavens, these doo wop mixes have FINALLY RESCUED 50s music back from that Travolta-Newton John abyss into which it had sank.
Thanks Gerry!
