JP is one of my oldest 'Internet Friends'. We frequented an otherwise-forgotten Superette bboard in late '99, while i was in the process of dropping out of uni. We spent every Wednesday night NZ time listening to bFM's 'Freak The Sheep' and holding 4-way ICQ conversations about life, the universe and everything. Schedules changed, the timezone factor became too much, i moved away from Auckland and the B's reception...everyone sorta drifted.

Thank goodness for ILE, probing the great mysteries of existence like 'why doesn't everyone break the tabs off their tapes afterwards?'. I made sure with this tape, the tabs came out straight away.

I've also tried to give it a vaguely New Zealand bent: Alastair who everyone loves, Orange Farm who everyone should, The Datsuns who everyone knows INVENTED this new rock n roll malarky. Plus a cloudboy b-side and a Space Dust track that isn't 'Love Is Mean', just to shut the Doorag up. The White Stripes track is a Blind Willy Mctell cover, from the 2000 Pacific Rim Tour 7" [on very sexy red vinyl, admit you're jealous]. I don't know if it's available on any other release.

This is probably the 'hippest' my mixes will ever get. Enjoy it while it lasts. Yr feedback welcome, as always.
