Comment:

My creative juices are drying up and this will be my last mix for a few days. demons took hold of me and ordered me to make lots of mixes! actually, my beloved wife has took hold of me by the throat and gently requested that I spend less time on the damn computer. As she is the light of my life, what is a guy to do? This is a pleasant mix of oldies for you to peruse will I enjoy a couple of days rest. A sincere thanks to each guy/gal who visits this site and hopefully enjoys my mixes. Your friendship and patronage is sincerely appreciated, as are all of your great mixes. Peace and happiness to all. The artwork is by my 15 year old daughter, Yvette. I don't profess to understand it, I'm a taxi driver, not an art critic. But then again, she doesn't understand my mixes, so I guess we're about even!

sloppy drunk blues was my theme song for about a year when I was 20.

Lovely. Love the Flatlanders, Wynonie Harris and Freddie Fender picks especially. The end of a great run of mixes here Gerry. Take a deep breath and dive back in.

hug your wife now and let her listen to this and she will understand why you spend some times infront of the computer.

Oh my god - I love that R. Dean Taylor song. So much so that my old band recorded it and released it on a compilation with other bands doing "super hits of the 70s". R. Dean also wrote "Love Child", if I'm not mistaken. Save this, and all your recent mixes if possible, for our next trade. Good to have you back, Gerry. Actually, my wife has been a little annoyed at the amount of time I was spending on AOTM too. 'Tis better to stay married than to constantly make mix discs.

I agree with everything you say about marriage, Sean, 'tis a constant battle to juggle the two!

Yes, I can relate to your wife's comments about spending too much time on the computer. Looks like another good one Gerry. Tell Yvette that her cover art is the bomb (or whatever phrase 15-year-olds use to profess greatness)
