This song is a memorial for my best friend's first car, a beat up old baby blue '82 Mercury Zephyr that leaked antifreeze and oil all over the place. It was a piece 'o shit but we loved it. She spent an insane amount of money to have a killer sound system put in and we would drive around aimlessly listening to Green Day, Sublime, Third Eye Blind, etc. Just over two years ago the Zephyr finally died when the engine caught fire in the Walmart parking lot. She came out of the store to find the whole car in flames.
After hearing "The Zephyr Song" on the radio I knew I had to make a mix to remember that car. So these are all songs that make me just want to get in my car and drive until I run out of road.
