Comment:

I have been feeling a little melancholy of late and I don't know why. I have a lot to be happy about. But anyways, this is a companion to my "Sharing a memory of gray" mix from way back. The sentiments are the same, but the cartoon emphasizes my love of humour. Hopefully you will all take pleasure in these (in my humble opinion) beautiful songs. Everybody keep smiling, Santa will be here soon! The Nigel Kennedy instrumental version of Danny Boy is quite lovely.

This is lovely Gerry. Lots of wonderful picks. I've been listening to Roberta Flack lately, so it's nice to see her. That John Prine song always brings tears to my eyes.

Wow. How I LOVE that Beach Boys song (probably just because of that particular line). Great Nick Drake song too. And you already know my thoughts on that Tom Waits song. If you haven't seen it, check out the 80s documentary "Streetwise", which is where I first heard it. The film is devastating..... and it closes with that song. It's all too much. Thanks for this great mix, Gerry. I can't wait to hear this. I think it's one of your best.

Perfect opener Gerry.., and love the Jansch & Prine especially...., and the Young. All fit the "mood" you're in.

Beautiful collection of songs, Gerry. Many favorites from top to bottom. The Far Side was a great strip, and is sorely missed.
