Comment:

A wee mix from The Pogues, led by one of Ireland's finest ever songwriters, the self-destructive Shane McGowan. Okay, for the nit-pickers amongst you all, he is actually English. In any case, If I hadn't been told that,I would have thought he was Irish and that's good enough for me. This is all fairly easily attainable material here, with the exception of the live "Danny Boy". Pour a pint of Guinness, grab a place at the bar and enjoy.

Great stuff, Gerry.Their first 3 albums are classics - I remember an early interview that went something like this: Interviewer:"All your songs, except the instrumentals seem to be about drinking. Is that true?"Shane (deadpans):"No, the instrumentals are about drinking too"

Fantastic! Y'know, I think Shane still puts on great shows... when he shows up, that is. Don't know if I can forgive you for not including "London Girl", though :-)

Thanks Mike! No, it's not my tattoo. My wife would kill me if I got a tattoo, unless it had her name on it! You have a great weekend too, my friend!
