Comment:

A mix for Patrick C. Taylor. As part of a trade, I suggested that I create a mix of artists that were not represented on his fine Alpha-Zed series, as well as some requests. This is what I came up with, based on what I saw on his past mixes. If he likes Lush, he'll probably like Fonda, if he loves the Shins, he should enjoy Saturday People -- that sort of thing. Patrick admits his collection is lacking in pre-1991 stuff, so I had to include a handful of recordings from the late 60s, as well as some more current artists he hopefully hasn't heard. The freckle-faced kid in the photo (to my knowledge anyway) is not Patrick.

Okay, I've lost a LOT OF WEIGHT SINCE THEN! I've heard the Fonda song, love it, have planned on buying the album, so great choice! For the record, although I have a few Lush singles, bought for about a quarter each, it's not a band I love. That's the only flaw of the Alpha-Zed mixes, it's the favorites mixed in with the ones I rarely listen to, and there's no determining which is which (except by looking throuhg my other mixes maybe). Anyway, this mix looks superb... a lot of these artists are ones I've been looking for. I can't remember if I asked to an Autumn Leaves track, but it's been impossible to find and give it a listen anywhere else. And by the way, given the cover, I'm officially giving it the subtitle "Patrick C. At The Tee."

And here we were all worried that Ion would return from his wedding making mixes of love songs by Whitney Houston and Billy Joel. Phew! Nice Undertones & Chills tracks (just to pick a few).
