Comment:

Yes, it's back -- the third installment of the Girlie Pop series. This time I was able to cram 30 artists from 30 different countries on one disc, but unfortunately I had no room for the US or Australia (sorry Sue!). Thanks go out to the following for their contributions: Lucyisblue (Vancouver Nights), Teapin (Gal Costa), Adr80 (Lio), Saaf (Helena V.) and Lakespeed (for a digital version of the Shop Assistants' song). As always, I'm open to suggestions for future editions. I don't think I've scratched the bottom of the barrel yet. I'd also like to wish all my fellow AOTMers a wonderful Christmas and New Year! Thanks to this site, I have twice as many friends as I had at this time last year. Let's hug.

Excellent Ion. Hooray for Yma Sumac. Wouldn't mind trading for this if you're up for it. Happy holidays to you and yours.

Hey, nice one Ion...although I'm not near the fan of "Girl Groups" as you....(I'm not even in the same area code)...wonder if "Clavel Purpura" is some kinda' take on "Claviceps Purpurea", the ergot fungus of Eleusis..?

Wonderful. Well worth the wait. Yma Sumac from Peru? Some say she's really Amy Camus from Brooklyn! Oye Vey! You newlyweds have a special xmas together as well. :-)

I don't have ANY idea who half the artists on this mix are, but I am intrigued beyond a shadow of a doubt! You always have the most wonderful ideas for mixes and execute them beautifully!

The Moulis and the Mahotellas rule anyway, but I'm also a dead sucker for Solex, Sumac and Pavone. Dunno if I'll ever forgive your including Oirish caterwaulers the Cranberries, though. Who needs any of THAT sauce? ;)

I love this mix, Its so diffrent from what you normally see on here, Good work!

Reguarding Ooberman - Yes, Shorley Wall is typical of their sound. You should check out 'Bluebell morning' or 'We will know when we get there'. Both songs have a feel of the classic Shorley wall. :0)

This is just a great mix. I admit I also quailed a little at seeing the Cranberries in there, but it ends up working just fine in context. Packed with bands I'm glad to have had help discovering.
