Comment:

No rarities here. Just what I would take with me to a Desert Island. Songs which I have loved for about 20 years. Totally self-indulgent and I don't feel guilty. I can't post images at the moment because my system is messed up.

This is great. I'm glad to see that Rod tune here - he became such a parody of himself that it's easy to forget what wonderful music he once made. It was he who turned me on to one of my "desert island tunes" - "Reason to Believe". And you also hit one of the most beautiful pop songs ever - that Beach Boys classic. Double wow.

Thanks, Sean. Yes, there are a few artists here I don't listen to much nowadays, but just because they have lost their muse doesn't negate the moments of genius they may have shown in the past.

What! How dare you post a mix with no rarities or alternative takes or bootlegs!! ;o) Just kidding of course. Sometimes I think we get too wrapped up trying to dazzle one another and forget that the singles, the popular songs, the well-known songs are popular for a reason ... they are great songs. Some wonderful picks here -- favorite tunes from some of my favorite artists as well. My desert island disk would be somewhat different of course, but I wouldn't be disappointed with this one. Continue to indulge yourself, gerry.

in the category artist you don't listen to anymore, i think the doors will be in there and if they ever do that tour with Ian Astbury on lead and mmm i don't remember on drums Stewart Copeland? things can only get worse. this CD includes only great songs but you know that, like Franklin said "My desert island disk would be somewhat different of course, but I wouldn't be disappointed with this one" and he's absolutely right about that

Wow! Even on your "non-rarities" mix there's stuff I don't recognize! Some great choices Gerry. I'll be telling you to crank it up from the next island over.
