Comment:

My first obligatory covers mix, but with a slight twist -- men are singing songs originally sung by women and vice versa. The latter was easy, but the former presented a bit more of a challenge. Somehow I missed Redd Kross, who've covered Shonen Knife, The Go-Go's and the Carpenters. Oh well, maybe next time. Once again, I'm a bit behind on some of my trades, but I'm doing my best to catch up. If you've set up a trade with me and haven't heard from me in awhile, please let me know! I might have forgotten.

Cool concept, Ion. I've long admired the brave musicians secure enough in their sexuality to cover songs from the other side of the gene pool. Extra points if they make no gender changes in the lyrics.

Terrific job. You are right, come to think of it, there are fewer covers by men of songs originally by women, what's up with that?

Hey Ion, cool idea and great execution. The Cardigans doing "Mr. Crowley"? Wow, that must be cool. It is a pretty great song. And Heavenly coving the Groovies? Man, I'd like to hear that too. Let me know when you're up for a round o' trading. I love fastbacks doing that Raspberries song.

Very good, I'd love to here that Solex/Pavement cover... Fountains of Wayne! I saw a test screening of "Rules of Attraction" in Orange County about a year ago, and that song was used as the temp score during one scene, but I had no idea that it was them...

Extremely cool concept and execution. When I saw the White Stripes in Detroit, their performance of "Jolene" absolutely blew my mind.

No, Ion, I haven't found a B&S tshirt for Xuxu yet - but I will be saving all my band tshirts for her to wear when she gets older! By the way, I think you owe me an email!
