Comment:
A mix for Stephen Royce, who's introduced me to lots of great music over the last year. This includes the usual fare -- female-fronted synth pop, late 60s obscurities, sunshine pop and a feline organist. Thanks go out to Thomas Mohr for Concord, Saaf for Twinkle (a song which was later covered by the Smiths) and Bowman the Showman for Tony Camillo's Bazuka. I also have to thank Casetta for turning me on to the Cool and Strange Music Magazine compilation, which provided some tunes for this mix. The title, of course, is the e-mail message we get when someone leaves feedback on our mix. When my wife e-mails me from work, she often writes "new comment from your wife." She's a funny one.
Feedback:
awesome ! You are the wind beneath my wings Ion! That cool and strange comp is pretty crazy. Mr. Miller is my fave.
Okay, I just realized it's "new comment ABOUT your mix." Please pretend you didn't notice. Thank you.
hey cool mix esspecially the Kaito song and Ivy is a grand band!!
Thanx!!
Thanx!!
wicked man, a lot of stuff I havn't heard,
Oops! There comes a smile! Or, in other words: Great stuff, just as usual. Faves: Kukla, Tahiti, Kahim, Twinkle (great song - she also recorded a German version of it), George Fishoff and the notorious Mr. Miller, of course (competing strongly with Sam Sachs, I must say). Thanks for the credit, bud.
Hey! An actual mix shows up! Some freaky international grooves.
The "Cool and Strange Music" comp is amazing, isn't it? Awesome.
This does look cool, though I have to admit I don't know some of it. The cover kind of frightens me too.
Great stuff as always!
pretty wild man, love that twinkle song :)
cool AND strange!
"I want a cookie" - so true . . .

Wonderfully bizarre...especially for the "usual fare." You can take the earmuffs off now, but you better leave the mask ;-)
Whoa, something rich and strange
Cool stuff!
this looks so great and fun! i love the fantastic plastic machine track, and just the band itself. they get so much less play than say, pizzicato 5 or even cornelius, but i think they're just as good. definitely smoother and sexier.
and yeah, of course i have girls in the garage vol. 8! i love it so much; it's one of my desert island discs. i bought vol. 2 the other day, but it's just not the same.

hey! i'm trying to make a 70's country mix with mostly men from that time. we'll see how it works.
cool as ever, ion. hey, guess what? i'm moving soon! (yup, my house *finally* sold!)
this looks fantastic. mr royce has a way, doesn't he?
Another great one. This mix reminds me that I have to start expanding my record collection again--it has grown a little stale.
Missed this one earlier, Ion. Apologies for that as this looks like hundreds of fun.
