Yeah... not all the songs are from the same time period, but hey, I like it. And does anyone know who sings "Please Mr. Postman"?

The Marvelettes were the girl group that had the original hit w/ Please Mr Postman, -- later of course the Beatles & lots of others did it too.

I'm not so sure I agree with the Marvelettes being the first group who did that song. I am pretty sure it was Diana Ross when she was with the Supremes

I don't think it was Diana Ross and the Supremes, I think that song was a little before their time...

Joey is right. The Carpenters also had a hit with it. And the Marvelettes' version is barely before the Supremes' time.

The Marvelette's had the first hit with it. I don't remember the Supremes ever doing it but a lot of their early albums had filler where they and other Motown acts incestously covered each other's songs. Thankfully never heard the Carpenter's version. Loved the Beatles and Jimmy Reed covers. Also Greg Dulli of the Afghan Whigs did a cool version on a soundtrack album a few years back.

Yeah, be happy that you haven't heard the Carpenters version. And FYI, the Foundations song is "Build Me Up Buttercup."
