Comment:

Here's an old mix tape (#20, 90 minutes, title is from the WestBam track) that I made over a year ago. I decided to submit it 'cause it's a favorite of mine. One reason I like it is for the juxtaposition of Basement Jaxx and Static-X. I bought the Static-X album as a novelty, but the funny thing is that the wicked classical acoustic guitar of the Jaxx song tends to make my head bang a lot harder than the track after it. I enjoy my copy of "Here Comes Your Man" which I bought used on cassette. Near the end of the track, the tape is super-mangled, broken, and taped back together (with the appropriate repair tape). When I got the cassette, the previous owner had even flipped the strip when they repaired it! (that is, it played side A more or less normal until the tape-break when it played side B backwards) I corrected this, but it just sounds TERRIBLE! It's chewed up beyond recognition for about ten seconds. I love it! Then, on side 2 of my mix, I decided to go from Cuba/Brazil/etcetera to Jamaica (via Jamaica, England, and the US) with a stop in Liverpool (or wherever) inbetween, then a trip to NYC, and finally back to the UK in time to wrap back around to side 1 for all those Brits and Europeans . . . Whee!
