Comment:

I'm probably a little bit trendy for a mentally ill fat guy. Try not to hold it against me.

Anyway, let's see. It took me a while to put this together, due to a surfeit of usable material. The title is derived from an obscure Robert Wyatt-related single not represented here. The Donna Summer track is the full 17 minute version. The Doors number is the only song I have heard by them that I've ever liked. Bonnie Prince Billy's track is a Kevin Coyne cover, from the latter's brilliant album "Babble" with Dagmar Krause. The Nu Sounds track is an unreleased doo-wop number from a band produced by Sun Ra, and is sublime. Space Doo-wop. The Beach Nuts were one of Lou Reed's bands with Pickwick Records before he was in the Velvets. I might have the Greaves song wrong- the tracks on my copy are all mistitled. The Bob Chance song I first heard on Negativland's "Moribund Music of the 70s" tape, and is delightful. Credit to Kim Sorise's radio show for turning me on to the Nascimento/Borges track, from the first Cluba De Esquina album.
