Comment:
A mix made for my old AOTM pal Kathryn Hudson, who requested a sunshine pop mix in exchange for her fantastic English Eccentrics mix. Almost all of the above was released in the late 1960s/early 70s, and is guaranteed to leave a smile on your face. I have to give props to Stephen Royce, whose fine soft pop mix (Umbrellas and Looks Away) was an inspiration for this. I duplicated a few of the artists and borrowed a couple songs from his other mixes. Also gotta thank DJ Lunch Boy for putting the 5th Dimension on my plate. I'm still trying to get caught up on trades. Honest!
Feedback:
Super excellent! What can I trade you for this, chief?
This looks just excellent. suits my mood perfectly these days. I'd love to trade for this as well.
Dude, we need to trade again ion, let me know...
Wow, that's just a nice big pile of bliss you've put together there. So, the Bugaloos...are we talking about the Sid and Marty Krofft Bugaloos?
Hey mate! Awesome, as usual. And the Bugaloos - freakin amazing - Xuxu *loves* the BUGALOOS!
Leaves a sunspot on my eye just looking at the tracklisting...., some classic summerpop blisstasy here Ion. Gorgeous cover, too......
Phenomenal. Keep a copy for me, good sir, when I can finally set up some new trades in 2005. ;-)
Wow, this does look really cool. Or, well, cool doesn't fit the theme...damn, I'm not clever enough. Anyhow, a great, great looking mix, and I too like the cover.
well well well, lookee what we have here! yet another confirmation that ion's pop stacks go back further and run deeper than my own. nicely done, old bean.
Lovely summer sunny mix! Ican't stop listen to Margo Guryan for the moment...her album from 1968 is AMAZING..
Looks blindingly bright Mr. Moe. Once the sun sets, we'll have to set up another swap for this.
again a great great mix ion. I'm not familiar with a lot of thing on this (i'm too young) but this looks so sunny...
Wow, wow, wow. Gorgeous. May need to rub some SPF 15 on my ears.
Someone told me there's a horse in the picture... I don't see it...
Ooh, whadda load of sychic sunspots! Burnt badly by just looking at the tracklist, bud. Hope this'll become seriously established in yer next lickle package heading my innocent way, so to speak. (Dat English? Hmm, I don't think so.)
Ouch, the sunlight hurts my eyes. I will be posting a few mixes int eh coming days so lets set up a swap.
Exciting! I'll get to work on my second volume soonish. Inspiring!
Er, this should've read "Psonic Psunspots", of course . . . Twas a lickle late already. And as an ol' Stratosphearean you knew what I meant anyway.
Don't know much of this but it looks lush. Cinnamon Empire is a great name for a band. Hope all in the US are having a nice day off.
I keep looking at this , it makes me happy. I think Mix o' the week is in order
Jumpin' Jahusaphet! This is awesome! Hoorya for The Bugaloos! Plllllease save a copy for me.
great and i mean GREAT, the summer is here now and this is something to have around when you zipping on soft drinks and to as little as possible, do you got vareses Sunshine days vol 5 ?
this looks like it would go very nicely with a glass of lemonade.
the girls mix is on her way, don't fret.

I've been trying to get my crew to break to a yellow balloon song for about 3 years now. so far they say its too "rock" and not funky enough! you rule!
Yay. I'd love to drive down the road and bop to this on a pretty day.
Great mix. I have to catch-up on all the mixes I've missed these past few months.
Man - I take off two months (a busy schedulle followed by a crashed hard drive that took me offline for a while) and you've been a mix disc machine! This looks great. I don't know a lot of this, but based on the stuff I know (and your track record) I'm sure there are plenty of gems here. I'd love to do some trades as soon as I get my artwork back on the hard drive (I lost about a third of them when the drive crashed - could only save discs that fit on a floppy).
Ion, this is great. I'd love to trade again....
ion, i know you're way behind on trades, but i'd love to throw this on the pile when we get down to it. how's the blushing bride?
I would love a copy of this. It looks wondeful.
yes indeed, this looks like an excellent mix from the few artists i recognize. i think your collection runs a bit deeper than mine, but i'll get a pile of other mixes up and you can see if there's stuff you're interested in.
