This is the mix I made on 4/23/03, just 3 days after everyone heard of Layne Staley's passing away. I heard a lot of people that day say how they knew it was coming, but I think it's still a shame that there's one less brilliant - though troubled - mind in this world. It hurts to hear how people won't appreciate the offerings of a creative and truly unique artist when they pass on in such the way that Layne and others like him ended up. Thank God or something that we still have other great alternative rock songwriters in this world such as Scott Weiland (I'm a late blooming Stone Temple Pilots fan), Billy Corgan (also late Smashing Pupkins), and Rob Thomas (I think Matchbox Twenty is an underrated, no matter how poppy their sound might be) to name a few. Burn, enjoy, and damn the man!
