Currently my favorite group, John's Children are best known for being Marc Bolan's band before Tyrannosaurus Rex. (though they were definitely more than that) It's hard to describe their music because there wasn't really anything like them in the 60's (like I would know), but I'll give it a try: if you take a little bit of mod and freakbeat, throw in some psychedelia, a dash of creepy 50's rock and roll and some kinky sex and then repeatedly stab it with your favorite knife you will eventually get John's Children...er, anyways...I'll be the first to admit that this was an extremely easy mix to make simply because they don't have that many recordings. This isn't really a "best of", it's more of an "only of"! (there is more music out there though, with new music just coming out!) There are so many great stories about this little band like their infamous "Orgasm" album, how they all dressed in "angelic" white clothes, or when they out-Who'd the Who in Germany...real horrorshow...
