Comment:
This one had pretty elaborate liner notes, which I don't usually do. So much so, in fact, that there's way too much to quote here, but here's the important bit: "This mix contains two kinds of songs. The first type has offensive material, ranging from the kind of stuff you're mildly ashamed of enjoying to the stuff you turn down when it comes on so your neighbors don't hear you playing it. The second type of song contains fervent, angry, venomous political or social comment. There is some overlap here between the two types." There were a LOT of songs to choose from here, but these are all ones I like for their music as well. Some of these tracks are cryptic and/or edited ... if you're interested in the details, or how/where to find them, send email.Feedback:
Excellent Zappa, Bongwater, Jello/Mojo, Phil Ochs, Dead Milkmen, and Femmes tracks. My kinda mix! did you cut the last Zappa track from "Brown Shoes Don't Make It"? I'm gonna have to find the Kirsty MacColl and Nick Lowe tracks. Two of my favorite artists.
Yup, the last Zappa track is from the middle of Brown Shoes (the Tinseltown Rebellion version). You can find the Nick Lowe track either on his best-of, Basher, or the Stiff Records boxed set. The Kirsty track is on Titanic Days.
