Comment:

This CD is derived from a proposed mix recipe/questionnaire/stunt/bet on the Art of the Mix forums. #1 is a song that gets me going in the morning. #2 is a song from an artist I'm embarrassed to admit I like. #3 is a song I think is romantic (also a song for a quiet rainy day). #4 is a lullaby, and if you don't agree, too bad. #5 is a song that makes me feel good no matter when I hear it (and is also romantic). #6 is from my favorite band, and I decided to just go with the first song of theirs I ever heard, or I'd never have been able to choose. #7 makes me laugh, even in this unfortunately bleeped version. #8 reminds me of my school days, the dawn of MTV, and the realization I was a musical weirdo. #9 is both a really good cover and a song I discovered from a film. #10 is a song with "look" in the title, though I've cheated. #11 is both a dead artist and another guilty pleasure. #12 is a song for a quiet rainy day. #13 is my favorite Elvis song (Ocean's Eleven sdtk cut, w/intro). #14 is a song by a group I otherwise don't like. #15 is about as close as I can get to finding something funky. #16 is a song from the most recent CD I've bought. #17 is a song with "blues" in the title. #18 is my wildcard entry - it seemed appropriate. #19 is one of the earliest songs I can remember listening to. I don't actually have that album; this is the Anthology version. #20 is a song I discovered from a film (The Big Lebowski, same as #9). You see that each answer does really appear at least once, some just fit more than one. Bonus track #21 is both a really good cover and always makes me laugh. Whew!

Wow! First of all, points for making such a cool mix and second, points for having TMBG as your favourite band!

Congratulations I think you are the first person to post a completed track list on the main board! Ecclectic too, big points for that.

This is just wonderful! I come up with a list from the top of my head and somewhere across the world a new mix comes into existance. I too found that a number of my choices could cover more than one category. concerning actual choices: #7 a close contender for me too, though finally ruled out because I only had the bleeped version. #10 the word is there - you're no cheat #15 funk doesn't have to restrict itself to just James Brown, it's something to do with that schwing. Example, Aerosmith and Led Zep are two of the funkiest badns I know. #18 bravo!

Aw, I love the Frankenstien mix idea!

I'm gonna have to make one, and I bet TMBG will be close to the same place as yours.
