Comment:
It's been a while since I did a punk mix, and I do love punk music. It's what I was listening to when I was 14 years old, and that energy still moves me, a quarter of a century later. I suppose there's a case for saying The Jam were not punks, and the Stranglers were "Too old, Doors clones", and The Cure and Dr Feelgood were never punk. Hell, there's a few bands here who could never really be termed punks, and a few true greats missing (Clash, Pistols, Ramones) But hey, It's my mix, and I like them! Zeitgeist is the key word here. The title is from the sublime Jam track. Enjoy!Feedback:
Smells like a winner!
this is fantastic. these remind me of being 14, too (though a decade too late, in '91). that atv tune is one of my favorites; ambition has the greatest organ intro ever, and public image the best bassline.
Whatta nice bunch of golden oldies . . . Pass the dentures, grandpa? ;)
great
Gerry is a punkrocker!
Great collection, esp. like the 999 which I haven't thought about in a while... need to dig out some vinyl.
Lots of great songs.

Ah this takesme back, only missing an Adverts track cos at 14, Gaye was was on my mind as much as Punk was.
Punk is as punk does. PiL were the first post-punk band. Punk's not dead!
Gerry's doin' punk. Peter's doin' funk. All is well on AOTM.
Great stuff all around.
Super mix!
Just noticed this and it's fantastic - I love the Skids, Buzzcocks, Gang of Four and Stiff Little Fingers especially! Thanks for the comments on my mixes too - I'd definitely be up for a trade sometime. (And yes, I think we may be the only Scottish mixers, but two is better than none I suppose! :) )
