Comment:
This is the result of having too many ideas at once, a lot of songs on my computer I wanted to get on CD, and then random selection. I like to start off mixes with high-energy tunes that catch your attention, i.e. B.O.B., Fuckin In the Bushes, and The Launch...from there I went pretty much on random. I threw in several nostalgia/one-hit wonder tracks right in a row to get me in a 90's, high school mood. Sorry about the Richard Marx, but I really liked that song listening to it on the bus in fifth grade, and it always stuck with me.Particular highlights are the Fatboys and KRS One tracks, very cool, early and forgotten rap. Then there is the absolutely awesome live version of Run Like Hell, with Roger Waters yelling at the audience like a Nazi ala the fascists in The Wall.
About the title: I tried to think of genres that really didn't exist anywhere. If you can find example of either anywhere, let me know. I'm pretty sure there ain't no Polka Punk fusion band, but maybe a French band got funky while I wasn't looking...
Feedback:
Love the mix, especially the Aphex Twin, good choice!
Thanks for the explanation re the title. I've been on an 18 month mission to discover French bands that I like, score stands at just 2 so far - Manu Chao and Orange Street.
