Comment:

created 5 September 2000. I made this one for my friend Anne, one of my few remaining friends who is an Emily-mix-tape-virgin. It is multithemed: sad and/or angry songs to help her get over being scorned by a guy she's liked (and who's liked her) for three years (but that's another story...), fun songs to help her feel happy and multiple SNZ and Clash tracks because she wants to hear more Zippers and she's never heard the Clash, which is a total crime. The last four songs on side two are a little suite of emotions: The Mamas and Papas song is cheerfully unhappy, the Spiritualized song is heartwrenching, the BF5 track is a burst of immature anger (consists mostly of the lyric "You make me feel, make me feel, make me feel retarded, retarded!") and the Bob song is pure vengeful genius.

And how great/horrible at the same time is it to have that Spiritualized song stuck in your head ALL DAY LONG!!?! It kills me. . . in many ways.
