This past new year's eve I hosted an 11.5 hour program called New Wave New Years on WMBR, the purpose of which was to play songs from the late 70's early 80's as a soundtrack for listener get-togethers. I use the term New Wave loosely, so traditionalists who scowl "that song isn't new wave!" are probably correct. This particular section of the program was the first 90 minutes from 6:30 to 8:00pm, where I featured recent bands whose sound owes a debt to the 80's. Listening back, the Subtonix cut was misplaced and probably should have been left off entirely, I had nothing else that could go with it but plenty others that fit the groove. Still, it's an enjoyable mix overall. And yes, it is a mix, I burned it down to disc while OTA without interruption. I'll be posting other NWNY mixes in the future, thanks for looking!
