Comment:

No real particular meaning for this mix. Just something I threw together for a good friend. However as with every one of my mixes I tried to make it flow together just right; I am always quite persnickety about that. But really, it's a very important detail I think. For example, with this mix, I feel that the Pornography-era Cure suits very well next to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, especially because of the percussion. In fact, if I were really going on similitude here I would have chose "The Figurehead" rather than "A Strange Day". Because you can hear a definite likeness between the drum riff of both "The Figurehead" and "Maps". But I didn't make that change simply for the sake of my friend, as I figured that "A Strange Day" was much more appropriate for her particular taste. And that is what it is all about, appeasing the listener... oh but within boundaries of course. ;^)
