Comment:
So a friend and I went through breakups at about the same time, and I wanted to make a mix for both of us -- not just a breakup mix but a mix about recovering from a breakup, moving on, getting stronger, and finally realizing life is better without the sonuvabitch anyway. The idea is to progress from the initial shock and anger (hence Jennifer Nettles up front) towards taking control of the breakup and being the one to do the dismissing, towards celebration. "I've Been Here Before" was a no-brainer, though I could have just as easily added "Runaway" or "Ladykiller" from the same album. So was "Plenty More," though I put it on nearly every mix CD I make.A few songs came from my friend Greg, who responded to my call for empowering breakup-related songs. Nifty fella, he is.Feedback:
