Comment:
This was my first thought-out mix, and my first theme mix. It was made in January of 2002. Each of my mixes generally carries two themes to it: it functions as the soundtrack of a particular book and also as having some significance to my present situation and state of mind. Sometimes the connections are explicit, other times they are vague and a bit of a stretch. Although this is the one mix of mine that was not organized by myself (a friend put it together from a list of songs I provided), it managed to fit fairly well the book I was trying to emulate, and the random selection actually enhanced the secondary theme in a way. (Or maybe it's just pretentious BS.) There is one error with this mix, and that's track 9. It was supposed to be JEW's "No Sensitivity", as opposed to the overplayed and mediocre song listed. The book theme is Stephen King's The Dark Tower I: The Gunslinger. The secondary theme is a beginning rooted in chaos and without design. A beginning in DISSIPATION.
