Comment:
This is the first themed compilation I've done in a while. It's cheesy as hell, but my unexpected appreciation of Quentin Tarantino's recent film served as a good opportunity for me to get together some music I haven't listened to much and put it into an 'alternative soundtrack'. I used two pieces of dialogue from the film that are in the official soundtrack, and added alternative versions from my collection for several of the songs used. The rest of the track was self-indulgently filled with the cream of the 60s and 70s funk/soul I've been listening to recently, along with a selection of Japanese music (a mix of mostly 'group sounds' numbers) from the same kind of era. And some other stuff (mostly soundtrack and library cuts) that seemed to fit the mood. It's really quite good. Probably wouldn't have sold as well as Tarantino's, though...I did do some artwork for this (in line with the compilation, this was a generic adaptation of the Kill Bill poster art). But I can't find it. Here's a scary picture I had hanging around on my harddrive. If one of the people is you, I'm really sorry.

Feedback:
looks wonderful, even if the inspiration is from a film i didn't care for. :)
that Shangri-Las is a total fave tound these parts, and i was baffled in the joy of hearing that Sun Ra track a couple of weeks ago. Everything i don't know i wish i did. Damn!!
