Comment:

A couple of years ago I challenged family and friends to make a theme mix about how you arrived to this point in your life, using music. Now I extent the challenge to my AOTM family Naturally since I made up the rules, I broke them and made a two CD mix. This is the first volume. In this volume I concentrated on the artist/styles that influenced from childhood to about the age 18. So when you see multiple listings by the same artist or style (i.e. Motown) you can bet I was/am heavily influenced by that. The second volume, Faded Jaded Masquraded has already been posted. On that CD the songs are more autobiograpical and are more important than the artists. If there are any physcologists out there and want to analyze me, please feel free to do so. When I grow up I want to know who I am

I'm feeling like a close cousin, or something, sharing your flashback here, though the My Fair Lady stopped me cold.

Nice idea, and lots of great tracks. Does the title, by chance, refer to MPLS's Lake Street? It's for Lovers, you know.

This mix is top shelf...wish I had seen it 3 weeks ago when you first posted it. Good selections.

this is a very good idea and will make this my next mix. seems like you can almost tell what part of the country people are from, by the mix. when I went from west coast to east in the 60s, seemed like the east was at least 6 months behind on everything. now I'm in Indiana...well, nothing to say about that except I do know how to spell : }
