Comment:
created 11 November 2000. It seems like all my mixes of late have been single, or in this case, triple, artist tapes. This was made for my friend Matt, who promises me a super duper Weezer CD in return. He's a budding Five fan, and also fancies himself a punk, although he's never heard the Ramones or the Clash, and to never hear them (the latter, especially) is a crime. So he'll get some education, if nothing else, from this tape. I don't really want to give it up, because I found such a cute picture of Ben and the boys for the cover. You may notice that all the Clash tunes are from "London Calling." Mm hmm...I call myself a Clash fan, but only have one album...shameful, I know, but, honest to god, "London Calling" NEVER grows old. I could listen to it forever.
Feedback:
"london calling" is indeed a great album, but i think my favourite clash album is a tie between "the clash" and "combat rock." i own all the clash's albums. . .cos they're my favourite band of all time. this is a great tape, by the way. how can your friend call himself a punk without having heard the ramones and the clash?!
That was my question too. It seems not that none of the "punk" faction at school is into the old stuff. I find that very odd, and a little amusing, since I am about the least punk rock of a person you'll ever meet (well, one of them anyways) and I'm more well-schooled than all the "hardcore" kids. Heh.
He liked the tape and I'm digging the Weezer CD.
