I made this tape for Matt from London, I met im Portugal where he is a surf guide/teacher type. I signal an interest in surf music to me, and mentioned his mom had sent him a tape of beach Boys and jan & Dean tracks (I imideately thought about those awful re-recordings they did, and the early releases you get a dime a dozen). I thought I'd make him, as guitar player he is, a tpae that would blow his hat off. I don't know if I succeded in that. It's actually not totally all surf by no means, but: I figured he would never know, I just slipped in a good share of stuff I was listening to at the time - Axotica I call it. And even if he ever played the stuff to a surf fan, that guy would wonder why he has never heard about The Jokers before ;-)
