Comment:
As always its about the music. How ever if you like themes how about breaking the "mix rules", saying goodbye to summer and saying goodbye to Mr. Bush? Question of the day: Can a mix be "good" if it breaks the "rules"? Footnote for those who appreciate muscians. The Billies's Bounce tune was recorded on November 26, 1945 with Miles Davis on trumpet, Charlie Parker on alto sax, Dizzy Gillespie on piano, Curley Russell on bass and Max Roach on drums. I would have loved to have been a fly on thewall durring that recording session.
Feedback:
what mix rules are u alluding to? & who made these rules? Where can I find the rule book? A great lookin' mix hemizen!
Magnifique mon ami. To hell with rules! & Yeh oh to have been at that session!
i'm with you. although the icing on the cake for me, was when giuliani quoted that bush was like reagan and.....winston churchill?? too much smoke for my eyes. thumbs up on the mix too! i'm a little scared of this election though. sometimes, the obvious doesn't turn the way you think : )
Where are these damn rules you speak of? Whatever the damn rules are, damn the damn rules...damnit. Wonderful mix. Love the Billie's back-to-back and that stretch from the Fifth Dimensions to the Rivieras is swell as well.
Rules? What rules. Another great mix.
According to the 'Mixer's guide to mixing' written by a Mr Rob Gordon, you have broken way too many rules for this mix to be good. First of all page 42, paragraph 3, specifically states if you repeat an artist of a high caliber on your 'mix' (ei, such as DYLAN) you fail at the 'mix' you are trying to make and are just being... silly? ~~ So, hemizen, I would like to like your mix, but I can't, sorry (it's just against the rules). Otherwise I would have like a lot on this mix, espcially the Bowie. Nice try though.
I'd love to find this rule book so I could burn it...this is dynamite, Hemi - I've always loved that opener...
ha! "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law" is the order of the day. Really great songs and a great mix.
Well, if you're going to break the rules, this is a fine way to do it. Love it all!
