Comment:
I've been reading "The Archaic Revival" by Terence McKenna lately, among other tomes. This has inspired me to forget conventional trends completely and do my own thing, musically speaking of course (Not that I ever needed an excuse to do that before). Hence, the unknown nature of the artists on this mix. None of these artists hit the heights of the charts, whatever benefits, other than monetary, that achievement may provide. However, they sound good to these ears and hopefully you'll enjoy this quirky mix of late sixties/early seventies psych/prog/folk/off the wall tunes. I am forever indebted to my great friend Valis, for continuing influence on my intellect. Peace and happiness to all my amigos on AOTM. Enjoy!
Feedback:
I think I've heard of one of these artists. This must be great!
Once again I have a notion of wot this might sound like but it's all in my head...I'd love to see u one day write a brief note about the artists..but I'm asking too much..intriguing as ever Gerry!
Bonjour et trTs bien Dr. Mac. Would you care to dispense some of this medication pour moi? Cos I'd love to hear this.
I wish I could comment on how great this must sound, but these folks are completely unknown to me. Fascinating!
The only one I'm familiar with here are Sam Gopal and he's great
Well, well, well. Hmmm...Like P, I know Gopal. I haven't heard anyone else on this mix. We can fix that right Gerry ;-?
nice affinity track. something my father (the balding ex-hippie) would enjoy probably more than me, though.
More expanded horizons to explore...
Another intriguing McD mix...I'd love to hear this too, Gerry...
You're right, all but a couple of these artists are unfamiliar to me -- but I'm certain it's worth hearing. I second your comments about the mighty Valis. He's a scholar and a gentleman, and I'm proud to have you both as friends.
Ditto J.J.
I'm in awe! I've tried finding downloads of some of these guys on the net and have failed completely. I did find the Arupa artwork, however. What is Arupa?
association for the responsible use of psychedelics
I'm confused and intrigued at the same time.
I am very, very intrigued by all of this - the amount of musical education you get on this site is amazing, and I bet this sounds great.
Might like to hear how this one influences my "intellect", some time....mayhaps?
Most of this stuff is not widely available, is it?
nope. The stuff on this is pretty rare and hard to find
