Comment:
I absoultely kick myself for not getting into this band sooner. I knew who they were last last year but never really delved into it as I was too focused on being obsessed with Interpol at the time. But better late then never definitely. I finally truly noticed how brilliant British Sea Power were earlier this year. I made this mix back in June and included some of my favourtes. Some from "The Decline Of..." and various b-sides "Remember Me" being the single version rather than the one from the album. "Blackout" and "Lately" are probably my current favourites. I have listened to this mix dozens upon dozens of times; I just can not get sick of it! However I had to stop for a while so I could listen to the new Cure album as well.I made some BSP mixes for some several friends in an attempt to get them hooked like me. I have yet to see this band live (missed out when I had a chance actually), but I hear they are phenomenal!
What first sparked my interest about British Sea Power last year were the Joy Division comparisons (huh?), although I do not notice the resemblance really. Although, there definitely seemed to be a Galaxie 500 reminiscence as they pointed out themselves in an interview. They remarked how Galaxie 500 were a big influence. Excellent! And this is made even more so evident with their cover of "Tugboat".
British Sea Power are definitely one of those very special new bands that will be written down in musical history. They are already in my top 10. Brilliant is the word that comes to mind. I am curious to see what they do next.

Feedback:
I am also quite fond of them -- they are on my "Best Songs You Never Heard 2003" Compilation. I am looking forward to word of a new album...
