This past new year's eve I hosted an 11.5 hour program called New Wave New Years on WMBR, the purpose of which was to play songs from the late 70's early 80's as a soundtrack for listener get-togethers. I use the term New Wave loosely, so traditionalists who scowl "that song isn't new wave!" are probably correct. This particular section of the program dealt with the darker aspects of new wave, while still staying upbeat and dancy. There are many familiar and classic goth artists here along with a few lesser known ones sprinkled in. Those unfamiliar with the genre may thing "fun" and "goth" don't mix ... but pain and pleasure can co-exist! I burned this mix down to disc while OTA without interruption. I'll be posting other NWNY mixes in the future, thanks for looking!
