this was a tape made at a particularly low time for both me and my girlfriend. neither of us could get jobs, i couldn't even get an appointment at the doctors. i got her to pick the tracklisting of the tape just from the song titles as a minor diversion to cheer her up. this tape was the only one i took to bristol to see the decemberists, and listened to it to and from the night before and the night after.
