Comment:

Whenever you are comfortable in life-1,2,3,4-the bombs start falling. So you tell yourself it's a journey not a destination. And you make a mix. This mix is dedicated to Valis. After listening to the superb "The Longest Drink" I started listening to one of my most favorite cds, Pet Sounds. The three songs I used on this mix from that cd helps pull it all together. I also want to thank Mahdishain for the Tom Waits track.

Although I can't agree with the fatalistic beginning of your liner notes, I sure can agree with the tunes on this mix. Very nice indeed!

That Thunderclap song is awesome - one of those classics I forget about. Also very much liking the Bright Eyes & Harrison songs - I have a love/hate thing with that Oasis song... As for the comment you put on my latest mix - The 'Your Only Happy...' is from the Jimmy Eat World song on that mix - I can see the confusion I caused but it has been stuck in my head, and even though I haven't been feeling all too down lately it fit the mood of the mix.

Good call using Pet Sounds in the middle. I hate I didn't think of it.

What Dom said. I'd love to get a copy of "Something in the Air" sometime, as it's one of the only one-hit wonder tunes that I love that I don't own.

Not only is
the longest drink
one of the greatest mixes of all time, but evidently the mixes that it inspires are pretty great too . . .

Very, very nice. Love the Steely Dan and the Beach Boys. Bright Eyes into Tom Waits is perfect. Good closing track, too.
