Comment:

This is the first of a four-volume series which will attempt to bring to light some of the lesser known names on the Psych/Prog/Folk/Rock/Pop/Blues scene from the golden era of music (in my humble opinion 1965-75). None of the groups featured are terribly well-known, but that does not mean they do not merit a listen. Sometimes they were just the wrong band in the wrong place at the wrong time and never got the recognition they deserved. Or maybe they were just crap and I'm the only one who likes them! I trust you shall decide that for yourselves, gentle listeners. If you dig the tracks upon hearing them, then I have indicated which albums they come from, if you should wish to chase them down at some point in the future.

I hope you all have a nice time over the holiday season, and very best wishes from me in Scotland, to all my friends on AOTM. I hope you all have a happy, healthy, peaceful and joyous new year.

I know approximately... ONE of these songs (the United States of America pick), but I'm sure it's quite cool.

Best liner note I've read in a long time - "...or maybe they were just crap and I'm the only one who likes them". I think that perfectly sums up my record collection. This is a magnificent series, and there's tons here that's new to me.

This is really cool - I have to say that I don't know much on it, though. Still, as Randy says, this is bound to be great. Hope you had a good Christmas!
