Comment:

Sister Sue. "I need to get a mix together for a May Day Porch Party-a fashion show for working women between the ages 35-65. What are your recommendations?" I used the wedding dance theory, that if they hadn't heard the song 1,000 times before they won't dance.

Certainly varied, that's for sure. I'm sure it's good for your purposes...

I hope they are drinking heavily. I'll take 1, 12, 13, and 24. Plus why not Beyond the Sea instead of Darrin's most famous standard? I've never liked that Costello song. Finally, just to surprise em, I would have thrown in an unlisted Iggy Pop: I Want to Be Your Dog.

I had a boss force me to "draw" the lyrics to that Phil Collins cover once for her husband. She said to make it "pretty"! Still a painful memory.

lots to like and lots to dislike, but that's party music for you. I guess I could only be truly happy at a party if I had possession of the cd player! But aren't we all the same?

i really like the flow here -- tracks 6 through 16 are a weird a kind of prefab oasis. (i must confess i'm unfamiliar with ashlee simpson's oeuvre.)

I have a soft spot in my heart for several of these songs, particularly Heart, Elvis C. and of course the Monkees. Overall this looks like a fun mix that should add some life to the party.

Must admit I never thought I would see a Jack Cassidy/Kaye Ballard duet flow into Chuck Berry. That, my friend, is perverse...and just great! Looks fun, Terry.
