Comment:

A mix for my pal Matt Hinrichs, who was kind enough to expose me to the Cafe-Apres-midi compilation CDs from Japan. Compiled by DJ Toru Hashimoto, the Cafe-Apres-midi series is a 20 volume collection of Brazilian grooves, sunshine pop, French ye-ye, breezy jazz and overly groovy tunes from the 60s, 70s and early 80s. This is a stab at my own Cafe-Apres-like mix, with a similar cover as well. I have to buy a round for Thomas Mohr, Fwak and Stephen Royce for their contributions. Quiz to win a copy: Be the first to tell me the name of the minute-long mystery track at the end of the mix. Cheers!

Oh gosh Moe,

This may be the best thing you've posted, and that's saying a hell of a lot. I want a copy of this & so am deeply inspired to put together a mix that you will want . . .

That series is a lot of fun & this one looks like it would fit in perfectly. Good job. I'm also curious about that version of Purple Haze!

Wicked cool. I'll be dropping you a line shortly to see if you're up for swapping some recent output; you've been on quite the creative roll here.

Looks excellent Ion. Hmmm, this quiz is tough, not much to go on, but I'll take the title as a clue you'd pick something by Hillary Duff, maybe "So Yesterday"? (-:

I know nothing here, Ion, but I'd love to hear it.

Congratulations to Saaf for guessing the mystery track. My "Cheers!" was intended as a subtle clue, as the song is a parody of that show's theme song. Clever guess Mixxer, but all it will get you is a stein full of foam.

I do have a few of those Cafe Apres-Midi discs, so I know how amazing your cover art is!! Not to mention how your selection would certainly rival the curator of the series' work. On another note: soon, soon, I promise.

This CafT AprFs-midi compilations are addictive. Found this mix while searching for info on CafT AprFs-midi. Don't know how or why I missed this when it was originally posted. It's great, as most of your mixes I've seen posted.
